ISO 14001:2026 was released on April 15, 2026, introducing the latest requirements for environmental management systems. IAPMO Systems Certification Body (SCB) is pleased to announce that its transition plan was approved by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) in August 2026. All nonconformances from SCB’s office assessment have also been successfully closed.
As a result, SCB is approved to audit and certify organizations to ISO 14001:2026. We can issue certificates to organizations seeking initial certification and begin transitioning existing clients from ISO 14001:2015 to the new standard.
Current SCB clients can move forward with confidence knowing that our audit capabilities have successfully transitioned to ISO 14001:2026.
How SCB Can Help
To support an informed and well-planned transition, SCB can provide or coordinate access to:
- Customized training through partner training organizations, including an overview of the differences between ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 14001:2026
- Educational webinars, podcasts and white papers addressing the new requirements
- Independent consultants who can help update an organization’s environmental management system and conduct an internal audit against the 2026 requirements
- A preassessment audit before the formal transition audit, structured to protect SCB’s impartiality and avoid providing consultancy
The transition is an opportunity to strengthen environmental performance, update organizational practices, and ensure continued certification. SCB is ready to help clients understand the process, prepare effectively and approach their ISO 14001:2026 transition with confidence.
